I taught children with special needs for 34 years. I taught kindergarten through eighth grade at one time or another. I really enjoyed the younger children as it gave me a greater opportunity to incorporate arts and crafts into my daily lessons. I retired in 2010 and I now have as much time as I want to craft and learn new crafts. While I was teaching, this was my idea of heaven on earth. I am alone now I do not have children of my own or my parents or sibling. I do however, live in a senior community with wonderful people I have however, been involved in many children's lives , such as the children I taught, The children and grandchildren of my friends and many I have worked with over the years.. I thoroughly enjoy handmade gifts and usually give them for birthdays and other holidays. I have a wonderful companion dog, a 14 year-old Chiweenie named Peanut.
